Does it make sense to sue someone in civil court if he doesn't have much money?

This person has hacked into my gf's email n took all her private info n pics and shared it w/ all his friends. I've found out theres no criminal charges that can be places....so we want to take him to civil court. Since he doesn' t have much money....will the judge garner his future wages?
