Need advice on a long standing work battle?

You have to see the story from HR's eyes. Remember they have to try to be unbiased until all facts are known. Not saying your HR department is doing a great job on this, but just keep that in mind. If you're this miserable at your job, find another one, and then put in your two weeks notice. Don't just cut ties because you have money saved up. I've done that before and quickly realized I didn't have enough money. If you get fired, even for potentially looking for another job, you may be eligible for unemployment. Honestly it's somewhat hard to be denied for unemployment in many cases because they tend to favor the employee rather than employer.
