What's up with female bloggers who exploit their appearance to gain hits?

And likewise, what's up with the males who drool over their photos and lavish them with praise in the hopes of making an online girlfriend? What I'm saying is, why can't people just write articles and not plaster their articles with provocative images to garner a large audience?
