Xbox 360 fans go crazy after doing the Penny fix!!?

ok so today i tried doing the penny trick to fix red ring of death. I used ArticSilver thermal paste and wraped 2 pennies in electic tape and put everything back together. Now when i turn my xbox on its boots but then the fans go to full speed and gives me 2 sided ring. i know the xbox is not overheating, but it thinks that it is, does Anyone have a fix for this?? I dont want to do the X-Clamp fix and i do know the conciquesnces of doing the penny trick. Also there was no thrmal pads when i opened the xbox up. Its a ben q drive and it has no HDMI if that helps.
