Conservatives, are you for reducing gov't waste or just for slashing programs you don't think YOU need?

The difference between the military and social services is that the military actually does a useful and constitutional function. Military members are often kids learning a trade and they also use some of what you consider "wasteful spending" to go to college. What would you have these kids graduating high school only to find NO jobs do? Collect from government hand out programs?
