I am ill, not terminally, but fairly sick.?

I live alone and have been doing so quite well for several years since my wife walked out, telling me she didn't want to deal with my illness any longer. I have a relative who is trying to garner support from other relative to put me in a nursing home, behind my back, and doesn't have the nerve to talk to me face to face. I have no need for any sort of intensive medical supervision. The real reason is he is worried that if my disease kicks in full force he might get stuck with me. Help, what is the best way to stop him without ruining the family?
